A message from Sheena McDonald
It’s 10 years now since I suffered a very severe head-injury. I was lucky to live - and, actually, luckier to recover. I was helped throughout the dark years by a few very good friends and a caring family - and, perhaps, some Scots/Yorkshire grit! Against expectations, I came back - and with an enhanced appreciation of how amazing life is! And I suddenly understood how powerful the bonds between family and friend can be. One of the first things I did in my early recovery was to make my Will. It’s so important to assign what you leave behind - be it small or large - to someone who’ll appreciate it, whether it be an individual or a favourite charity or organisation. I won’t - you won’t - be there to see how much the inheritance is valued, but that doesn’t matter. This month gives you the opportunity to get round to doing what you’ve always meant to do and make a Will - for free! So please do take this opportunity to have your Will written by a qualified Scottish solicitor, and take some care of your loved ones (I have a new toddler niece!) - and maybe leave a gift which will help generations ahead.
